Service Description

What are we doing? Our session will last for up to 75 minutes. We will start out with some land side exercises and familiarisation of your equipment. Then we will begin with a nice warm up in which we will swim to the halfway point of the swim course. This will give you a chance to both adapt to the open water environment, and at the same time, whilst underway, enable the coaches to observe the various levels at which you are as swimmers. Then we will introduce you to various swim drills to help you become more  competent  open water swimmers. Finally, we will work on some fun yet challenging skills specific to the open water. What are my transport/parking options getting to the session? Parking available – follow the ATW signs all the way to the end carpark Location and Directions: Merchant Taylors' School Sandy Lodge, Moor Park, Northwood HA6 2HT https://www.activetrainingworld.co.uk/open-water-swimming/   What should I bring to the session? * Your wetsuit – required for the session (we will be in and out of the water for close to an hour). The water temperature is wavering around 15-18C. Please be aware that wetsuits will be compulsory at Blenheim. * Swimming hat – we supply you with a new shiny one! * Goggles * Tow Float – should you need one - we have some that can be borrowed/purchased! * Towels * Something warm to put on after * Nutrition – there is a coffee van on site! And a cake lady!    How does it all work?  * Arrive ready to swim and/or get your wetsuits on in the car park.  * Follow the signage to the lake.  * Please meet me or a make yourself known to a member of the ATW team at the registration gazebo adjacent to the lake.  * Our point of entry is at the sailing slipway behind the registration desk, so we’ll most likely be there waiting for you to gather.  * Should you require to leave items at the lake side, we suggest that you give yourself additional time and drop your bags at the bag drop in the main swim entry. * Safety cover is provided by the Active Training World with kayaks at key point in the lake, so no need to worry about water safety.
